This company is beyond terrible. I'm not sure how other contractors would handle the situation, but I can't imagine it being much worse than this.They have had our street torn up and closed for about a month and a half now. Half the time my wife and I have to jump fences to get to our house because they have our driveway blocked with either excavation equipment, trucks, or large piles of dirt and gravel. There was no notice of this construction in any form. No knock on the door, no note, nothing. One day when my wife came home from work and the entire street was torn up 12 feet deep in front of our house. She asked a worker how she was supposed to get to our house. He replied, you can park 2 blocks over and walk home. Another time. Our driveway was actually accessible. But. There was a worker in a dump truck parked in the middle of the intersection to our street. He wasn't working. He was just sitting in his truck. There was no excavator loading his truck either. He was literally just sitting in the middle of the intersection. As my wife parked and got out of her car he said. Well you look like you're having a good day. Basically, I have a few main concerns. Who hired this company. We contacted city hall and they don't know anything about the construction. Secondly, we have no idea what they are even doing digging a 12 foot trench down the entire street. And lastly. What if there was an emergency? Or what if somebody in a wheel chair needed to get home? How would they? I understand that the work probably has a good reason, whatever that reason is for whatever work it is, but some notice of any sort would have been nice.
